What people are saying.

  • The dining room murals look awesome! Residents , families and staff love it!

    — Pilar Henderson, Extendicare Hamilton

  • Personally, I like the murals! I find them pleasing to look at but also relaxing/calming. I wish they were all over the hospital. I honestly enjoy working in an environment that has a nice aesthetic to it, as opposed to looking at blank, colourless walls. It's less 'depressing'. Definitely, more appealing to work on the unit.

    — Maria, Douglas Hospital

  • We find the murals very pretty and welcoming. It's a nice addition to 3A that makes the unit “more milieu de vie”. On our side, we believe there are fewer residents banging on the unit's front door.

    — Tania Daoust, Sainte-Anne Hospital

The materials installed are of a high quality, durable and robust.

We've had positive feedback from our employees, who find that it really does give a more human aspect and is even closer to what we expect from a living environment.

We've noticed fewer residents near the exit doors, thanks to the installation of landscape backdrops on the doors and exits of the units, particularly the prosthetic unit.

And when a resident is close to the door, it seems that the landscape printed on the door offers a sense of calm, with residents less inclined to touch and try to push open the doors.

As for the murals in the large RDCH dining room, staff like the background with the Alps, which gives them a sense of depth when they're at mealtime.

The image offers an Alpine panorama with a perspective of depth and escape, which also enlarges the dining room.

These are very positive things.

— Michel Meyer, CHSLD Lachine

It's a real pleasure for me to have had the chance to benefit from your support and expertise in bringing our project to a successful conclusion.

As site manager of the CHSLD Lachine, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart for having enabled us to rehabilitate our living environment, and to embellish the daily life of our users in the common areas as well as on the various units.

On behalf of our teams, our residents and their families, and myself, I thank you for making this possible.

These improvements will make a real difference in the context of dependency, behavioral and memory disorders.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting the CHSLD de Lachine.

— Michel Meyer, CHSLD Lachine

People still hope for many more, because it gives them the feeling of escaping.

For the CHSLD lachine the impact is as follows.

Patients who go to eat in the dining room of the RDCH find the dining room much more welcoming than in the past, residents stop in front of the mural and imagine themselves in the forest.

Families find that the mural installed in the lobby gives more life and enhances the entrance to the CHSLD.

Some residents and families find that murals add depth and seem to enlarge the space.

— Michel Meyer, CHSLD Lachine

All users and staff are happy with their new care and work environment.

With you, we have an environment that contributes to the recovery of users.

In fact, after several years of torment, unanswered requests and disappointment, you have just shown us that, with you, we can change and improve the care environment.

All users and staff are happy with their new care and work environment.

They all say it's beautiful.

The murals on the doors allow staff and users to get their bearings quickly.

We have seen a reduction in requests for users to be directed to their room.

We want you to know that the donations you make help to improve users' stays in our services. On behalf of our users and staff, I'd like to thank you for this wonderful gift you're giving to Porteous 1 and 2.

The wall art is a home run in my opinion!

I met with the management team for the ADP space and they both agreed. The colors are vibrant and the application is seamless.

We’ve already captured a resident reaction also. The ADP manager spoke with a resident as she was standing and gazing at the art. She commented how beautiful it was and how it reminded her of a location in her home country. She also mentioned fond memories that it brought up.

Thank you and your team for making it happen.

— Moriah Limotta, Copernicus Lodge

What a difference these beautiful scenic murals made in the room.

We are so grateful for the wall murals that were installed in the residents dining rooms. It added color, warmth and a calming feeling as if you’re in nature. Moreover, it made it feel less institutionalized and so much cozier.  We have received numerous positive comments from the residents, their families, as well as the staff.  Thank you so much for caring and giving back to our seniors.  Your donation has made drastic improvement on their living environment and it will last for years to come. Thank you once again!

They contribute to enhancing the living environment of CHSLD residents.

Residents at CHSLD LaSalle Residents express their pleasure at being able to escape by imagining themselves playing golf or taking a walk in nature, while still inside the CHSLD. They often see themselves in the middle of a round of golf, enjoying a moment of relaxation in the open air, or are transported by the idea of a soothing walk in the heart of nature. Two magnificent murals enhance the walls, creating spaces they cherish. One depicts a verdant golf course, while the other illustrates a peaceful waterfall. These works of art offer residents the chance to enjoy the beauty of nature inside the CHSLD, stimulating their imaginations and bringing a profound sense of well-being to their daily lives.

The mural in the gym creates a relaxing atmosphere.

Although the gym is located in a basement, you get the feeling of being in the middle of nature, and the mural also gives the room a sense of grandeur. The mural is stimulating, with the vibrant colours of the leaves and landscape, and our residents and professionals alike enjoy being part of it.

— Amélie Giroux, Residential Clinical Programs, Eastern Sector
